Rhythm Section sample packs return after hiatus with a unique bank of sounds from South London Samba. SLS (South London Samba) are a drumming ensemble based in Peckham with regular community workshops, weekly rehearsals and performances across London. Whilst you have probably heard them at festivals like We Out Here, X The Tracks and of course Notting Hill Carnival, they have worked for the likes of Disclosure, Nike and the BBC. SLS (South London Samba) are a literal tour de force, breaking down the walls of babylon armed to the teeth with percussion.

Adam, SLS Founder says

“At the time Mali approached us if we wanted to work on a sample pack, strangely enough we were looking for someone to work with to record all our drums… to create a sample bank so we could compose remotely. We wanted our drums sampled in a professional context and he also suggested that whilst we recorded clean hits, we lay down some our own arrangements to complete the pack.“

The pack contains over 150 one-hits and some construction stems. The one-hits are all expertly played with varying velocity, perfect for velocity mapping in your DAW or hardware, whereas the stems are intentionally unquantized (albeit played to a click), to retain the natural feel of a 4 piece batacuda.
